Controlled Velocity Centrifugal Barrel
Richwood centrifugal barrel machines are 8 times as efficient as vibratory bowls. Each machine carries four barrels spaced evenly on the periphery of a turret. As the turret rotates one direction, the barrels rotate one turn the opposite direction, a 1:1 ratio.
With a range of 60 to 180 RPM, parts and media are subjected to high centrifugal force that yields finishes 30 to 40 times faster than bowl or tub machines. That force produces superior edge radius, deburring, and polishing, and can also effect stress relief. Even distribution of media, water, and compound means delicate parts such as fine jewelry and surgical instruments process without distortion.
Richwood custom manufactures these machines in steel or stainless steel, with straight barrels or figure-8 barrels. Barrels are lined in rubber for high heat and long runs, or polyurethane for shorter runs and longer life.
